Phyllis Genevieve Chase - Jim's Mom – 87 years old
It was fine weather when we started out but when we were on the road almost to Rogerville it started to snow making the roads slippery and cars were skidding off the road. Jimmy was driving slowly but all of a sudden we started to skid and went over a bank and rolled slowly over into a ditch and ended upside down, good thing we had our seat belts on.
Now a strange thing was happening to us. There was a house not to far from us where we went off the road, but instead of going there we seemed to be drawn to the next house up the road. There was a couple, a man and woman that seen us go off the road and came to help us to this house. When we went in this house and told them what happened the man of the house said he would go with Jimmy and help him with his car. I was left with his wife, grown-up daughter and grown-up sons. They must of just got back from church and it looked like the daughter had been crying. The mother, daughter and two sons looked so down and unhappy.
I wanted to say something maybe I could find out their sadness. I don’t know who mentioned cancer, it must have been the mother herself. I told her about my battle with cancer years ago. I asked her if they got all her cancer. They told her they had but she didn’t believe them.
I said to her I know the person that can tell you if you still have cancer and that is my son Jimmy. He has a gift of reading handwriting, he will put your mind at ease, so when Jimmy came back after getting Phyllis’ car out of the ditch.
I never told him anything just asked him to read this lady’s handwriting. It was just like a movie to see this woman, her daughter, sons and husband so still and listening to what Jimmy was telling this lady. First he said, you gave up on God, thinking why me and it turned out this woman just about lived in church until she took sick with cancer. She had given up on all things. Jimmy talked to her and told here there was no sign of cancer - it was gone.
What a happy family we left that day. We said we would keep in touch to see how the mother would do. It was next spring when we dropped by their place, what a different woman she was – active, her family couldn’t keep up with her. They called it a miracle. I have often said to Jimmy didn’t you feel that God had a hand in the miracle that happened that day and Jimmy said to me, “I think so”. Prayers are answered and we just happened to be driving by so God used us – One who had cancer, the other who could read handwriting (perfect). God Bless
Phyllis Jean Chase (Jim’s late Wife)
I thought to myself “how do I write a few things – this is something Jim has been doing since before we got married. We have been married for 40 years. I was only sixteen we have three daughters and eight grandchildren. I never said how old he was; well in years not quite two years older but he was far too wise for his age.
This man has a gift that was given to him at a very young age. So being the spouse I was the one that was there for all the times that he would do some strangers writing and I watched how shocked with the accuracy of what they were being told. I would be with him and he would be talking about something to someone and before I knew it another hour had gone by and someone else was finding out more about themselves than they expected to. I got so I didn’t go with him when he had to go out because no matter where he was going it would end up in a handwriting analysis/ lesson. After 40 years I’m tired and he is just beginning. This is his passion.
Jim’s handwriting and symbolology has always been part of our lives, living all across the country, twenty years in the Air Force, sixteen years with the airlines, and so many other jobs on the side, has given us a chance to meet a lot of people. Jim can be on a plane and who ever is sitting next to him, you can bet that they will have their handwriting done before they land . . . or on a bus, or train – it doesn’t make any difference where or when. Not once has he ever received a “you're wrong”. I just can’t explain how I would feel watching him at a table with a young couple doing their handwriting and seeing their faces with tears sometimes going down their cheeks not quite understanding how this man can reveal so much from so little handwriting.
One of our daughters asked Jim if he would do one of her co-workers writing, so he took her into the office and we waited for him to come out, well it was about ½ an hour later and she came out and had tears streaming down her face and right away I said what did he say to you? All she said was “he is amazing”. She couldn’t believe what he could tell and how true everything he said was.
You have to understand this has never been work for Jim, he has taught this at a college, he has written for several newspapers across Canada, given private lessons, he has done confidential analysis for people that are prominent leaders, he’s had a local cable television show in Winnipeg. He’s assisted so many people through various churches, clubs and groups too many to mention.
I myself believe in my husband so much it sends me for a loop every time that I think God has given me at such a young age the smartest man with such abilities to grow old with. How could I not brag about the truth of my husband. He has been my rock all my life.
Since his job has taken us to so many places he has always had to move on and has never had a chance to focus on his own dreams. He’s always put providing for us before his own dreams. There are so many stories about how Jim has touched peoples lives through his analysis . . . his passion.

Former Publisher, High River Times – Sun Media
I first met Jim Chase in the reception area of the High River Times, the community newspaper serving High River, Alberta. He had come to pitch me on an idea that he had for a column he thought the newspaper would benefit from. As publisher of The Times, there was seldom a month that went by without at least one community person believing they have a story to tell or a column they wanted to write. So I had become pretty good at politely listening, evaluating quickly and sending them on their way. I remember being particularly pushed for time that day and decided that I would talk with him in the reception area and not take him back into my office.
Mr. Chase showed me clippings from The Winnipeg Sun and other published articles and described his ‘symbolology’ concept. Immediately I concluded that such a column was far too ‘hocus-pocus’ for our no-nonsense rural readers and began moving toward closing the meeting. Perhaps sensing this, Jim suggested I take a simple test and pushed a pen into my hand. It all seemed simple enough and I thought that once I had indulged his little test he would be obliged to let me get back to my day.
It took me one minute to complete the test and less than two seconds for Jim to interpret it and begin speaking about what he saw. The sensation was, for me, like having the shower curtain pulled open in front of a group of strangers. As it was, my receptionist and some customers who happened to be in the office began to hear far more about the inner workings of my mind that one normally cares to share. Jim’s assessment of my personality and character was accurate and detailed to the point of embarrassment.
I changed my mind.
After talking further with Jim in the privacy of my office this time- I discovered that his method is not mystical but practical and that he has a burning desire to help people through it and to teach others how to do it. I told him that I was interested but that there were others that needed to be convinced as well. We set up a blind exercise where these colleagues each filled out the same little test and Jim mailed them back his personalized assessments. These other decision-makers were equally surprised and within a month Jim’s column began appearing in five community newspapers in southern Alberta.
Early on, some troubling signs Jim saw in a test, which a staff member had asked him to do for one of her daughters, correctly predicted crisis behavior. At that moment I realized the value of Jim’s work
Over the course of two years that Jim Chase’s column ran he received more mail in one month than most columnists receive in a decade. The public response to Jim’s analysis of reader’s tests was astounding. There was, in fact, more response than we could accommodate in a weekly publication, how can weekly publications satisfy as many as 50 letters in a month each requesting assessment?
Jim Chase is a man whose life is filled with stories of people whose lives have been touched and helped by his remarkable abilities. I long ago decided never to bet against him. You shouldn’t either.

Sherry Lynn W. Daughter
I used to follow my father around like a lost puppy in my early years and in that time I learned a great deal about him, things that intrigued me and things that scared me (not in a bad way).
At as young as 8 years old I would watch him closely when he met with people, sat down with them and told them "Write a sentence with the personal pronoun "I"...sign your name this way and sign your name that way" He would then take the paper and start talking. "You are the kind of person......" and he could and sometimes would go on for hours. I would listen intently, not really understanding what was going on and wondering how on Earth he could know that about a person he had just met, then I would wonder if he really did or was he just making it up?
That theory did not last long, A friend of mine thought it would be 'cool' to have him analyze her writing, until he started talking about the abuse she suffered as a child. She could not comprehend how he could know something she tried so hard to keep a secret. He helped her to see then, that it was not her fault, she should feel no shame....she sought help and became a strong independent woman that would speak of Dad as if he were on a pedestal.
I started using my father as a barometer for my friends or perspective boyfriends. As a teenager I loved to have him entertain me with analysis, today if I am having difficulty in my life or I see friends that are struggling with certain issues I will go to my Dad. Can you help? Look at this writing and tell me. I have such faith in his ability that I never question what he has said. He doesn't think that it takes any special skill to master what he does, he knows and has taught many people to do this, he sees it as a very precise type of science.... I see it as a gift, I see it as a calling. I see it as part of my Dad that no one else could mirror. I think it takes more than just intelligence to be able to do what he does, it takes a heart. Each time he analyses someone else's writing he truly does make a place in that person’s heart because they know he saw directly into theirs.
One experience I remember clearly was when I was about 10 years old, we were invited to the home of Terry Fox's grandparents. I can't recall if they had heard about Dad through his TV show or Newspaper article but we went to their home in Winnipeg. Dad had a long conversation with Terry's grandfather as I sat on the couch, not understanding the important events that had happened with Terry, at the time. Terry's Grandfather handed Dad something that Terry had wrote during his battle with cancer...Dad was mesmerized by the script and let Terry's grandfather know that Terry was aware he would lose his battle with cancer but also knew he would leave a legacy.
He would bring hope when people thought there was none. Terry's journey was not to claim a cure for himself but to strive for a cure for others. He knew that his life would end but knew his Marathon of Hope would not. I know now that those words must have been such a comfort, so healing to the soul. It was only months after Terry had passed that this took place (I recall it being in December or January because Terry's grandfather was born around Christmas day and had birthday/Christmas cards on the mantle piece) and being so young I never understood the gravity of the situation before me, but now as I get older and see the millions of dollars raised, the different countries around the world running in the Terry Fox Marathon of Hope...it brings me back to that time as my father sat with that card in his hands, in a world all his own, looking into the heart of a boy that fought and struggled ...a boy that indeed KNEW what was to come after he was gone. Not only that my Dad had the ability to do that but I also so what an enormous weight that some of the analysis that he has done over the years must affect him...but he does it, to help people see.
A gift, a talent, an intellectual science, a calling...no matter what you want to call it. My father, James Chase is in a league of his own. He is truly a remarkable man and I feel honoured to have him as my Dad.

It wasn't until I hit my teenage years that I realized what talent my Dad had. My first exposure to the whole concept was to his "Jacques L'Quille" TV show. I was giddy at the thought of being on TV. It wasn't until he started rattling off everyone's inner most secrets that I knew I would have to watch what writing I left lying around.
As the years went on, I have seen more and more the impact his analysis has on people. To laughing, crying and the stunned realization that no matter how hard they tried to hide their secrets, it was an open book and the final realization that HE could see through them.
It was never forced on us at home. No weekly analysis to control our behaviours and keep us emotionally stable. He knew experience and life's lessons would lead us down our respective paths. I love Dad for all he has done for so many people and love him even more for always being a believer in me.

Jim first analyzed my writing when I was dating his daughter Wanda. I thought it was a joke at first when Wanda mentioned her Dad can analyze writing. Since Jim did not know anything about me I thought “what the heck” let’s see what you can tell me. I was amazed at what he was able to see in my handwriting. He told me things about myself I had never admitted to anyone. I later married Wanda and Jim’s analyzed my writing a few times more. He not only saw who I was but also had this way of pointing out the “gifts” he saw in my writing. He suggested that I try coaching youth soccer as he saw in my writing attributes that I had that would make me a great coach. I never ever thought of coaching soccer. I love soccer and played it all my life. I felt a bit insecure about my ability to be a coach. Jim encouraged me to take a few steps towards this goal. He actually recommended my name to the organizers of a youth soccer clinic at the Air Force base, well it went great, I surprised myself and the feedback we received was extremely positive. Well the whole experience “kick started” my 22 year coaching career. Since then I’ve coached countless teams been awarded “Coach of the Year”, led my teams to win National medals, and numerous tournaments. I’m currently coaching a provincial level team. I have been a positive influence in the lives of many youth in soccer over the past 22 years. I would have never had attempted coaching if it wasn’t for Jim and his encouragement.

He analyzes handwriting, art and symbols through his own method of analysis called "Symbolology”. He’s used his abilities to help thousands of people for over 40 years. His analysis helps people to really look within themselves, inspiring them to grow. His analysis also assists individuals to understand others. He is the BEST at analysis there is no method like his, he’s created a unique method of analyzing handwriting, art and symbols.
God gave my Dad a very special gift; he’s been an angel in the lives of so many.
He’s helped professionals such as teachers, psychiatrists; psychologists understand their pupils, clients, and patients. He’s worked with the police on analyzing criminal writings and symbols. His daughters (myself included) would ask our father to look at the handwriting of boyfriends or colleagues when we were unsure of their intentions. He saved us the heart-ache of being involved with others who had ill intentions.
He has worked with Art Galleries as his unique method enables him to analyze the feelings, personality and emotions of the artists.
I remember being young and my Dad analyzing the handwriting of someone in one of my history text books he was able to bring a famous historical figure to life.
Trust me, I’ve seen the magic his analysis has made in so many lives . . . he has made a difference in this world. He had several columns in newspapers across Canada where people would send in their analysis and a locally viewed TV program as well but Dad always had to move because he was in the military (Air Force) or was transferred because of changes within the airline industry. Just as he was getting started in a city or town with his analysis we were transferred. He retired from the military after 20 years and is now working on his second retirement with Air Canada. Providing for his family by working as an aircraft engineer had to be first because he wanted to provide the security of a steady pay cheque to his family. His dreams were always put second. My mother had a chronic illness and Dad never wanted Mom to worry about money. He is close to retirement with the airlines and I know he wants to perform his analysis full time something he’s always dreamed of doing. (Note: Jim has retired from the Airlines)
